The Building

After so many years of collaboration with boatyards the World over , Trimarine has decided it was time to integrate the consultancy work with a new production facility setup in Portugal in 2010, incorporating Trimarine Compósitos Lda as a Portuguese company in 2012.

A modern structure with water frontage to the South East of Lisbon where all kinds of composite vessels can be built, including multihulls of large dimensions that due to their size require direct launching facilities.

The Design Team

Our Design Team is mainly focused on interpreting our clients designs and structural specifications in order to provide the Shopfloor with the necessary details needed for construction. We have at present 3 naval engineering graduates from the local IST and two dedicated production engineers.

We don’t just interpret designs – we refine them for manufacturability, ensuring that what leaves the drawing office can be built right the first time on the Shopfloor.

The Oven

The boatyard is fitted with a modular oven, designed and engineered by Fernando Sena, in a way that it could evolve together with the facility’s needs.

Thanks to its controlled environment it is suitable for constructions made with Pre-impregnated fibers, Sprint Technology, Resin infusion and process the correct curing cycles required.

In its standard configuration it is capable of containing the mould of yachts up to 70 feet, but can be easily extended up to 100 feet.

Carpentry Work

The Carpentry

One of the most crucial areas of a boatyard is indeed the carpentry. A small initial error could result in a delay during the construction assembly.

We proudly created a highly-skilled team of carpenters, and with modern CNC cutting machines we are able to produce and assemble wooden moulds and plugs, as well as interior furniture tooling.

Water Access

At the rear of the boatyard we created a 900 square meters concrete platform, and from there we have direct access to the Tagus river, and the Atlantic Ocean.

Having the possibility of directly launching yachts from the boatyard was crucial for Trimarine, since it allows us to build multihulls of large dimensions that would otherwise be impossible to transport elsewhere.
